Yes, we do. We offer trial mandarin language classes at the prorated price of one lesson.

Fees will be settled on the 1st of every month and is billed on a payment in advance basis. Fees are calculated prorated to the number of lessons you will attend from the 1st of every month to the last day of the month. Hence, if you miss a class due to personal/medical reasons, you will not be charged. We will either process a refund or carry forward the fees paid to the next month, depending on your personal preference.

Every lesson will have targeted exam ace techniques and a main focus. We also have a higher Chinese tuition, covering syllabus for higher Chinese language at all levels.

Our teaching approach is also tailored to meet individual student needs to ensure that students are able to make the most of their learning experience at Yanzi. This individualized teaching approach and attention to student-specific needs is able to assist in helping them better master the syllabus.

Our maximum class is set at 6 per class to ensure sufficient individualized attention and support given to each of our students. We do not do mass classes like other centers where there is no differentiation between the quality of education received in schools and tuition classes. This more personal setting allows for teachers to better understand each student’s individual learning needs for better progress and results.

Our classes are max 1.5hrs long — many parents wonder why our classes are only 1.5 hours long.

Actually, there’s a very intentional reason for this. We’ve designed our lessons to be extremely focused and efficient. In fact, we do extensive research on teaching methods to ensure every minute in class counts.

Unlike some tuition centres that spend large portions of the lesson on mechanical activities (like lengthy dictation or copying that can take 30–45 minutes), we use this time to build deep understanding and long-term memory. For example, when we teach a word like “准”, we don’t wait for students to make mistakes in their tests. During class, we’ll highlight common errors ahead of time and get them to actively process why it’s two-dot water, not three.

This way, concepts are already deeply imprinted in their minds, and they’re far less likely to make the same mistakes later on.

Yanzi offers different courses to students based on their current learning level, including PSLE Chinese tuition, O level Chinese tuition and A level Chinese tuition. For the younger students, we incorporate more fun teaching methods in their syllabus to help them build a better foundation and interest towards learning Chinese.
